SRPS 4
Rolduc Abbey, Kerkrade, The Netherlands
September 8-11, 2009

Scope

Synchrotron Radiation in Polymer Science IV (SRPS 4) will be held as a satellite meeting of The International Conference on Small Angle Scattering, SAS-2009 on September 13-17, in Oxford (UK). This conference is the fourth meeting in this series. The first meeting was initiated by the late Professor Zachmann and was organised in 1995 in Hamburg. The second meeting was in Sheffield (UK) in 2002, and the third meeting was kept on the site of SPring 8 (Japan).

The scope of the SRPS conference series is to be a forum where the application of synchrotron radiation based experimental techniques to polymer based materials can be discussed. Topics that will be covered will include developments in experimental techniques, using both hard as well as soft X-rays, data analysis tools, technique combinations, special sample environments for time-resolved experiments. Both fundamental as well as applied research will be featured.

Topics:

  • X-ray scattering

  • Imaging

  • X-ray spectroscopy

  • GI-SAXS, X-ray reflectivity

  • The applications of soft X-rays

  • Microbeam applications

  • Hyphenated techniques

Venue

The 4th Meeting on Synchrotron Radiation in Polymer Science will be held for the first time in the Netherlands from Tuesday, 8 September to Friday, 11 September, 2009, at the Rolduc Abbey, Kerkrade. Rolduc Abbey was founded in 1104 and is uniquely located at the crossroads of three countries and cultures, where the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium meet. It is close to both Maastricht and Aachen. The nearby Airport Maastricht-Aachen has a network of fast and direct connections to more than 200 European and intercontinental destinations.

Abstract submission

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are invited to submit a short abstract with title to Han Goossens. The deadline for submission of abstracts for a poster presentation is the 15th of August 2009.

Abstract instructions for abstract book

An example document containing the instructions for authors can be downloaded here. We strongly advise to use this document as a template. The extended abstract should be submitted in PDF-format to ensure a correct lay-out in the conference proceedings.

Posters

For your poster we recommend the standard A0 paper size (841*1189 mm). It is however possible to deviate from that size. The measures of the poster board are 1150*1450 mm. Materials to attach your poster to the board will be provided by the organization.

Deadlines

The deadline for submission of extended abstracts for the approved oral presentation is the 15th of August 2009.

The deadline for the payment of the early registration fee is 15th of July 2009

The deadline for poster submissions is the 15th of August 2009. Submissions afterwards will not appear in the abstract book, but are still welcome.
